DELAYED-ONSET MUSCLE SORENESS (DOMS)
DOMS is a dull, aching pain with tenderness and stiffness in the muscle(s).
This occurs between 24 and 72 hours after unaccustomed or strenuous exercise.
Some people rest during this phase, however it is better to perform low intensity work and maintain activity levels to increase blood flow to the muscles.
It is necessary for muscle growth and adapting to exercise, and is an indication of previous activity.
