How can I produce HGH (Human Growth Hormone) naturally?
There are 3 contributors to stimulate HGH production.
Sleep:
Growth hormone is released during sleep, cutting sleep short will reduce the levels of HGH production. Aim for 8 hours a night.
Exercise:
Anaerobic work such as short distance sprinting, lifting heavy loads with minimal rest periods, and compound movements utilising as many large muscle groups as possible elicit the greatest growth hormone response.
Long distance endurance type exercise can reduce levels of growth hormone due to increased levels of the stress hormone cortisol. Especially after 40 minutes or so.
Nutrition:
Avoid alcohol and foods that cause a rapid increase in blood glucose (such as refined carbs, processed foods, and sugar) which stimulates insulin production. Insulin secretion reduces HGH production.
